In order to merge/delete duplicate customers and keep the history, follow these options:

 
Note: V2V technologies is not responsible for any loss of information. We recommend you do a backup of your database before performing this procedure.


When you have a duplicate customer,

Tip :

  • Chose how to enter customer name: First Name & Last Name, ( recommended) 
    • Sending email or letter will use the format: Hi "CUSTOMER NAME"
      • Ex Hi John Smith ( Better )
      • Ex Hi Smith, John
    • Save customer information in the file you want to keep : move email and cel phone
 
Option 1: the easy way 

    • Go to "Customer Management"/"Change customer number",
    • In the field "To change", type the current customer number (to delete)  to move vehicle and history to the new one,
    • In the field "New", type the existing customer number,
      • Use the spyglass to search for customer

  • Double click to select a customer

    • Save.



    Click "YES" to confirm 



    When the transfer of vehicle and history is complete, you will have a message of confirmation 
      
     


    Important: Don't perform this procedure if you have an accounting bridge with Acomba or QuickBooks.



Option 2:
  • Go to "Customer Management"/"Customer management" and make sure that all fields (except Customer No.:) are identical.
