GEM-CAR is part of a social charitable effort which you can participate in.

Camp De Vacances Lac Simon is a summer camp that accommodates free-of-charge camp stays for disadvantaged children aged between 9 and 15 from the Montreal region. The Camp's goal is to provide disadvantaged youth with a positive experience far from the city's pressure. The Camp hires volunteer counsellors and managers only and is held on a site owned by the Georges O'Donoughue Foundation.

The camp was built in 1956 and it needs a great renovation in order to service the children’s needs. GEM-CAR donated $5,000 for repairing the camp. There is approximately 30 percent of the camp's goal that has been reached. Rebuilding the canteen and cafeteria, new toilets, and electrical entrance to the camp are some of the future projects.
